Efficient and comfortable

4th time to have stayed here in a little more than 2 months. Things have remained consistent throughout this time, both the good and bad.
The highlight remains the design, ambiance and comfort of the entire hotel and rooms, that is being modern with a strong oriental flair.
This time my IHG status was recognised immediately and I was upgraded to a room on the 10th floor.
Areas for improvement.
- Used the pool one evening and was shocked to see the lack of attention paid to the routine upkeep/cleaning of the changing rooms. Slippers and towers were flung everywhere, lockers were left wide open. I thought I was in a rubbish dumpster!
- I do hope that the lobby lounge would begin serving drinks. This is the second time in a month that I saw it wasn't operating. I do long for a glass of wine or two. And if light meals / snacks are offered, it would be even better
Had a rejuvenating stay again. But, the F&B section lets it down once again

This was my second stay at Hualuxe Yangjiang. I was very looking forward to staying here again to stay the very least.
Perhaps some of my expectations shouldn't have been too great?
Let's get the negatives out the way:
F&B - A few things could definitely be improved here:
- Compared to Crowne Plaza Hailing nearby, the welcome drink does leave something to be desired. I did expect the option of a glass of red/white wine
- During the first night the weather was pretty poor so I decided to stay in and have dinner at the hotel. I was hoping the restaurant on the 1st floor to have a wider international option. however I was only offered an array of deep fried snacks and instant noodles. Quality was pretty poor - chicken was especially dry. The staff were extremely unfriendly compared to other staff at this hotel, they tried to sell me a set dinner promotion but were unable to explain how it should be done on WeChat....
- Could someone explain whether the restaurant on 2/F serves western food ? or is this reserved for events only?
- There aren't any places where I can order red/white wine
- During breakfast, I wasn't offered a table at the members area, but I was given this option during my first stay. So I'm not sure what the standard here should be.
Hualuxe's usual strengths remain though which include:
- Friendly staff at check in
- Comfortable rooms
- Excellent Housekeeping standards
- Well maintained pool and gym
Overall, the cons will not affect my decision to stay here again, and I do hope my comments will not be used against anyone at the property. I am looking forward to trying out your dining areas again once they have been enhanced.

HUALUXE is one of my favorite hotel brands that integrate Chinese features into the overall design. Consequently, HUALUXE YANGJIANG had been my first choice when I arrived in this city.
Recognization of the membership is fast when check-in. The circumstance of the hotel is beautiful and tranquil, built along the river at the center of Yangjiang city. Due to the covid-19, and in compliance with the policy issued by the Yangjiang Gov, it is a pity that I could not enjoy my breakfast and Happy hour at the restaurant. Anyway, the staffs are enthusiastic and friendly.
I would like to recommend it to you if you have a trip toward Yangjiang.
