FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Betty Now Open in Buckhead

Executive Chef Brandon Chavannes Helms Kitchen of Modern American Supper Club Located Adjacent to The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel

ATLANTA, GA (February 10, 2021) – The Betty, a refined dining destination featuring contemporary interpretations of classic Continental cuisine, opens its doors to the public today, Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Seamlessly blending intimate sophistication and Southern hospitality, Executive Chef Brandon Chavannes’s menus are nods to mid-century supper clubs, but with modern twists designed to surprise and delight guests. The Betty is open for breakfast on weekdays from 7-10am and from 7-11am on Saturday and Sunday; dinner and bar service are available from 5-10pm Monday through Thursday, 5-11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 5-9pm on Sunday.

Mid-Century Style with a Touch of Glamour
The Betty boasts a handsome aesthetic with dark woods, rich textures, and an abundance of leather and marble. Furniture and decor celebrate a mid-century modern design, and a soundtrack of American jazz and soul classics features artists such as Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Diana Ross, and Sam Cooke. The lavish 175 seat dining room features a variety of vintage-inspired tables, custom-made banquettes, and an art collection of retro, one-of-a-kind black velvet still-life pieces. Flanking the dining room is an elevated bar with a beveled mirror backing, creating a cozy perch for cocktail connoisseurs to see and be seen. On beautiful Atlanta nights, guests can also enjoy the 1,100 square foot front patio, which seats 30 guests and features fire pits and outdoor heaters.

With an old Hollywood-inspired atmosphere that transports guests to luxurious days-gone-by, The Betty dining room and bar immediately evoke a strong sense of place. When guests arrive, they’re instantly transported to a glamorous supper club straight from the mid-1900s, and the tone is set as sharply dressed, professional bartenders shake up classic cocktails at the lively bar. The dark candlelit space has a palpable energy that beckons a memorable evening of dining, drinking, and celebrating with friends and family.

The Betty’s visual identity was created by Matthew Goodrich of New York City’s award-winning design firm Goodrich and Kimpton’s Global SVP of Design, Ave Bradley.

Classic American Cuisine and Cocktails, Redefined and Reimagined for Today’s Palate
The mid-century modern themes that influence The Betty’s aesthetic are also used as sources of inspiration for the menus. Here, beloved American dishes are modernized and reimagined by Executive Chef Brandon Chavannes to reveal themselves as the treasures they are. Large format dining and tableside presentations add to the theatre of the dining room, while modern precision technique and a broadened world-pantry subtly influence the accent of the dinner menu.

Guests will enjoy sophisticated takes on classic Continental cuisine -- which will rotate frequently according to the seasons -- such as Wagyu Beef Cheek Stroganoff with Black Pepper Gnocchi; Linguine and Georgia Clams with Uni, Chili, and Garlic; and Whole Salt Crusted Fish for two with Artichoke and Truffle. The focused dessert menu, also created and executed by Chef Chavannes, boasts elegant favorites presented in modern and exciting ways – like Strawberry Cheesecake with Prosecco & Rose Gelee and Macadamia Nut Crumble, which features a traditional cheesecake base but utilizes macadamia nuts in lieu of the traditional graham cracker crust and showcases strawberries encased in a geletin-structure atop the cake. Beverage Manager Trey Ledbetter’s complementary beverage menu is similarly anchored by history and elegance, highlighting brown spirits and classic cocktails, as well as a thoughtful selection of wine and local craft beer.

Keeping in line with the dinner menus, the breakfast offerings at The Betty – ranging from fresh baked goods and pastries to the Betty’s Bagel with House-Smoked Salmon, Crushed Avocado, Tomato, and Onion – are classic in nature but playful and thoughtful in execution.

The Betty’s Approach to Clean
Beyond its already high levels of cleanliness and safety outlined in The Betty's Approach to Clean, the restaurant will be abiding by the following additional precautionary measures:

  • Signage displayed throughout the restaurant indicating COVID safety measures (including the employee usage of 3-ply medical masks)
  • Guests must wear a mask whenever they’re moving throughout the restaurant and not seated at their table
Spacing reservations to ensure there is never a large number of guests coming through the restaurant doors at any given time.
  • Guests will be seated with ample social distancing in mind; tables that are not in use will be marked "closed" to ensure proper distancing.
  • Table sets are complete with flatware rollups, hand sanitizer, and laminated QR codes. All menus offered will be single use. All staff have been trained on table resets with extra cleaning measures in place for the table, QR code sheet, hand sanitizer dispenser, and chairs.
  • The Betty's POS terminals, as well as credit cards, pens, and check presenters will be cleaned after each use.

For those not comfortable with dining indoors, The Betty is offering takeout that consists of the full dinner menu, excluding shared plates and raw bar items. Patio seating is available as well, with heaters being installed in the coming weeks.

In addition, there will be a café setup for grab & go breakfasts, including a rotation of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, coffee drinks, in addition to the full-service breakfast menu.
