Kashi University (KSU), the westernmost comprehensive university in China, is located in Kashgar, Xinjiang. Founded in 1962 as Kashgar Teachers College, it was renamed Kashi University in 2015. It has three campuses (Gaotai, Xinquan, Dongcheng), 1 doctoral program, 16 master’s programs, 77 undergraduate majors, and about 38,000 students. Rooted in teacher education, it serves southern Xinjiang and is a key institution along the Belt and Road.
