K-State got its start in 1858, when Bluemont Central College was founded and 53 students enrolled. Five years later K-State became the first college in America to be officially designated a land-grant school. K-State ranks first nationally among state universities in its total of Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Udall scholars since 1986. Our students have won more than $2 million in those five competitions and have earned K-State a place among the nation’s elite universities.

Picturesque Bill Snyder Family Stadium has been the home of K-State's football team since 1968. Renamed in honor of legendary head football coach Bill Snyder by a proclamation of the Kansas Board of Regents on Nov. 16, 2005, Bill Snyder Family Stadium sits on the north end of campus. Originally named KSU Stadium, the facility was built at a cost of $1.6 million and financed from student fees, athletics gate receipts and contributions.

The arena is located in the northwest corner of the Kansas State campus, along with the rest of the school's athletic facilities, abutting the south end zone of Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium. The arena was built to replace Ahearn Field House, K-State's basketball facility from 1950 to 1988. Construction of Bramlage Coliseum began with a groundbreaking on October 18, 1986, and was completed in 1988. The construction was funded entirely by student fees and donations from alumni and friends

Manhattan Christian College (MCC) is a private Christian college in Manhattan, Kansas, United States. Manhattan Christian College was founded in 1927 as Christian Workers University. It initially opened for classes on September 19, 1927. The school's name was changed to Manhattan Bible College in 1930, and on July 1, 1971, the name was changed again to Manhattan Christian College. Programs of study include both single and dual-degrees (in cooperation with Kansas State University.

Anneberg Park is located on the West side of Manhattan, KS, off of Anderson Avenue. There is a beautiful pond, a fantastic trail that wraps around the park, a playground, and the best pedestrian bridge in town. If you have kids, there is a decent chance you’ve been to Anneberg for their soccer or softball games. The grass and turf fields there are almost always in use! But, this park is huge and there is plenty of space to spread out.

Sunset Zoo, also known as Sunset Zoological Park, is the city zoo of Manhattan, Kansas, and is home to over 300 animals representing more than 100 species.

CiCo Park was founded under a cooperative agreement contributing to this 97-acre regional park and recreation area. Riley County operates Pottorf Hall, an indoor community center complete with restrooms and a kitchen. The county fairgrounds and arena are nearby, and host to numerous horse shows and one of the select rodeos in the area. The county also provides a public fitness course and a playground, three surfaced tennis courts and a 25-meter swimming pool with an offset diving well.

Frank Myers Field at Tointon Family Stadium is a baseball stadium in Manhattan, Kansas. It is the home field of the Kansas State University Wildcats college baseball team. The stadium holds 2,000 people and opened for baseball in 1961. It is named after Bob and Betty Tointon, who donated money for renovations in 2002.

Located in the Flint Hills of northeastern Kansas, Konza Prairie Biological Station is a native tallgrass prairie preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy and Kansas State University and managed as a field research station by the K-State Division of Biology Since Konza Prairie is a biological research station, most of the area is off-limits to the general public. However, our Nature Trails are open to the public and available from dawn to dusk every day of the year.

Tuttle Creek State Park offers a broad variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Both utility campsites and primitive campsites are available, along with a swimming beach, cabins, boat ramps, courtesy docks, a full service marina, and dump stations. Campgrounds contain eight water,electric and sewer campsites; 159 water and electric campsites; 44 electric-only campsites; and 500 primitive non designated campsites.Numerous nature trails, a mountain bike trail, and a scenic equestrian trail
