Our crown jewel, the Lapeer County Courthouse, was built in 1846 and is the oldest continuously active courthouse in the State of Michigan, one of the ten oldest in the United States, and one of the fifty most significant buildings in the State of Michigan

The Pix Theatre, built in 1941, serves as a focal point to local arts and community activities. Restored by the Lapeer Downtown Development Authority in 1997, the Pix Theater is a 306-seat theater that showcases musical and theatrical performances, second run film showings.

DTE Energy Music Theatre is a 15,274-seat amphitheater located in Clarkston, Michigan. It was originally known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre, due to its proximity to the nearby Pine Knob ski area and golf course. The name was changed in 2002 when DTE Energy (the parent company of Detroit Edison) purchased the naming rights. Despite this change, many people still continue to call the venue "Pine Knob", "The Knob", or "The Hill".

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum, which opened in October 1999, is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, just a short drive south of Lapeer. It features many historically significant Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, AMC, Nash, Hudson, and Rambler vehicles from various eras.

James H. Whiting Auditorium is a 2,043-seat auditorium located in Flint, Michigan, USA. It is part of the Flint Cultural Center campus. It is currently home to the Flint Symphony Orchestra and former home to Christmas at Whiting. The auditorium features a 35.5'-by-55' stage.The Whiting is home to the Flint Symphony Orchestra as well as the Flint Festival Chorus. The Whiting is also used for Broadway-style touring shows, concerts and other local events.

The Flint Institute of Arts currently houses a rich collection of over 6,500 works of art, from 16th century renaissance paintings to modern abstract sculpture. It is one of the largest museums in Michigan and is home to one of the nation's largest museum art schools, offering classes year round for students from 2 1/2 years to adult. At the Flint Institute of Arts, you will discover everything from exhibitions, art classes, films and videos, to lectures, concerts, tours and more.

Hidden Pines is located on 80 acres in Lapeer, Michigan, just south of Interstate 69. Approximately 40,000 Christmas trees of different varieties are planted on the property. The first seedlings were planted in 1993 and harvested in 2002. Mutch's Hidden Pines serves as a host location for the US Soil Conservation Spring and Fall Tree sale. The Gift Barn is located inside a fully restored, heated barn from the 1860's.

The Thumb Correctional Facility has six Level II housing units including day showers, laundry facilities and staff offices. Four housing units are for adult offenders and two housing units are for youthful offenders. Other buildings include the prison services building, food service building for prisoner and staff dining, health care area, warehouse and maintenance areas, administrative building, visiting, staff training, hearings and the institution's control center.

Mott Community College has offered classes in Lapeer since 1989 and the current facility has been open since 1993. The MCC-Lapeer site now offers classes four semesters each year. Many new and upper-level classes continue to be added to the schedule. Lapeer area students can complete many basic educational requirements close to home. Recent improvements to parking lots, restrooms, and classrooms reflect Mott’s continued investment in the Lapeer community.
